When I began researching summer camp opportunities for children with special needs in the Charleston area years ago, I was surprised to find a severe shortage of options. This is especially disheartening in a community so rich in offerings in many other areas. Camp Wonder offers a unique environment in which Charleston area children with special needs can enjoy a fun, beneficial, educational and structured camp experience just like their neurotypical peers. My son has attended camp for four years and we hope to continue for many to come.
